Research Assistant - Neuroscience and Pharmacology (Carter Lab)
Required Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, neuroscience, chemical engineering, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Minimum two years of research related experience
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation
- Demonstrated ability to formulate hypotheses
- Ability to multitask effectively, prioritize multiple projects
- Excellent organizational skills
Desirable Qualifications:
- Working knowledge with cell culture methods, mouse models, biochemical assays, colorimetric assays, ELISAs, Western blotting, PCR and qPCR
- Maintaining animal colony and animal surgical experience
- Basic proficiency with GraphPad, ImageJ, SPSS, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent
- Experience DNA plasmid design, cloning, transfections, lentiviral transduction
- CAD software experience (Auto-CAD, SolidWorks, Fusion360 or equivalent)
- Experience in multiphysics modeling (Comsol, Sim4Life or equivalent)
- Experience with molecular biology techniques
- Experience with cell culture and animal models
- Demonstrated experience in electrical and/or mechanical engineering
