Required Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or other biological science, or an appropriate combination of education and years of experience working in an academic research environment.
  • Experience with animal husbandry and the maintenance of mouse breeding colonies.
  • Experience with standard molecular biology and biochemical techniques (e.g., animal tissue sample collection, PCR/qPCR, and Western blot), common cell biology techniques (e.g., immunocytochemistry/immunohistochemistry).
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Macintosh and PC computers, including the applications Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Photoshop is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of standard molecular biology and biochemical techniques (e.g. nucleic acid extraction, PCR/qPCR, ICC/IHC, Western blot, etc.).
  • Experience with rodent disease modeling and tail vein injections.
