Research Assistant-Otolaryngology
Required Qualification:
A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference: Biology, Microbiology, Genetics or Similar
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Experience with molecular biology techniques including PCR, DNA extraction, gel electrophoresis and Sanger sequencing is required.
Experience with MS Excel, Word is required.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with next-generation sequencing
Experience with microscopy, including confocal, epiflourescent and / or light microscopy
Experience mentoring undergraduate research students, including training in lab techniques and guiding research projects
Experience with cloning and mammalian cell culture
Experience and willingness to work with rodent animals (mice) and to acquire expertise in relevant histologic and surgical procedures under direction provided by principal investigator and other staff
Experience developing primers, amplimer validation and protocol development
Experience with protein assays including co-immunoprecipitation, electromobility shift assays.
Experience with high throughput experiments including RNA sequencing.
Experience with minigene assays
