Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, psychology, or neuroscience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of oral and written communication techniques and relationship building skills and the ability to clearly communicate and work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.  

  • Attention to detail and high level of organization.    

  • Knowledge of and ability to use office support tools available on the desktop (e.g., word processing, e-mail, presentation software and spreadsheets).  

  • Ability to work one weekend day per week.  

  • Ability to maintain compliance with different departmental, university, and government rules and guidelines. 

 

Desirable Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve problems independently   

  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and keep experiments organized.   

  • Demonstrated ability to work with very small instruments and equipment.   

  • Database management and data entry skills.   

  • At least 6 months of experience working with rodents, especially rats.   

  • At least 6 months of experience conducting histological preparations of tissue sections.
