Research Assistant - Pulmonary Medicine
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in science, engineering or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and related laboratory experience.
Experience Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum of 3 months experience in microbiology research, including handling respiratory culture specimens, sterile technique, streaking for isolation, identification of common bacterial phenotypes, and preservation of microbes.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Demonstrated excellence with organizational skills.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in data analysis and presentation.
Highly Desired Qualifications:
- 6 months experience in microscopy is highly desirable.
- 6 months experience with tissue culture is highly desirable.
- Previous experience with clinical research is highly desirable.
- Previous experience with creating or using REDCap databases is highly desirable.
- Experience or Proficiency with coding in R or related language is highly desirable.
- Experience with using terminal environment for bioinformatic pipelines such as bactopia is highly desirable.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience in caring for laboratory animals.
- Prior experience in statistics or computer programming.
- Knowledge of Institutional Review Board Procedures
