Education Required:

  • Requires the academic knowledge in the biological, health, or physical sciences generally associated with a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, plus the demonstrated ability to translate, adapt, and apply that knowledge in a challenging laboratory setting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires the academic knowledge and mathematical skills of a discipline plus the ability to translate, adapt and apply the knowledge that is generally associated with a Bachelor's degree with a science, biomedical engineering or math major, supplemented by one or more years of progressively responsible experience in the conduct of natural or health science research or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Basic computer skills required. Experience with one or more of the following operating systems required: Microsoft Windows, macOS, and/or Linux.
  • Significant experience and facility using Microsoft Office; specifically Word and Excel are required.
  • Applicant must be willing to work with ionizing radiation.

Highly Desirable Qualifications:

  • 3+ years research experience in a research laboratory.
  • Research experience using laboratory animals.
  • Demonstrated ability for rigorous documentation and attention to detail necessary for performance of complex scientific experiments.
  • The ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment while maintaining focus and scientific rigor.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Working with, measuring, and handling radioactive material.
  • Experience in operating nuclear/radiation based imaging equipment (CT, SPECT or PET).
  • Experience with IACUC and Radiation protection regulations and the appropriate documentation.
  • Experience with small animal handling and tail vein injections.
