Research Assistant, Sleep Development Lab, Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences
Education Required: A bachelor’s degree in
a science-related field.
Required Qualifications:
·
Laboratory
research experience with human subjects.
·
The
ability to work 40 hours per week during normal work hours. It may occasionally
be necessary to work early mornings or weekends depending on the schedules of
participants.
·
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills.
·
Attention
to detail and strong organizational skills, especially for scheduling and
interacting with participants.
·
Database
management and data-entry skills.
Desired Qualifications:
·
Familiarity
with or training in neuroscience.
·
Course
work or training in sleep physiology.
· Lab experience or course training in EEG.
·
Experience
with computer software such MATLAB or NetSuite.
·
Ability
to perform technically complex experimental work with human infants.
·
The
ability to work well with infants and their parents, to make them feel at ease;
ability to handle situations when babies get upset or don’t sleep.
·
The
ability to supervise undergraduate research assistants.
·
A
capability for independent, self-directed work.
