Required Qualifications-Research Assistant:

  • A Bachelor's degree in psychology, communication science, speech and hearing science, linguistics, cognitive science, neuroscience, social work, gerontology, biology, or a related field.

  • Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.

  • Must demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.

  • A working knowledge of word processing, database management, basic statistical techniques.

  • 1 year of experience carrying out research protocols with human subjects.

  • Ability to perform and score standardized clinical assessments of hearing, psychosocial function, and cognition, or rapid learn administration and scoring.

Desirable Qualifications-Research Assistant:

  • Basic understanding of statistical software packages.

  • Previous experience administering neuropsychological measures and/or audiology measures.

  • Experience working with a population with hearing impairment.

  • Knowledge of cochlear implants.

  • Experience with computer programming (any language).
