Position Description Summary: 

This remote position with the Felton Student Success Center will lead all aspects of the RN-BSN program and may assist with the recruitment, admissions, and retention of prospective and current students for the various other college programs. Responsibilities will require occasional time outside of the 8:00 am – 5:00 pm workday to support student recruitment, activities, and events including overnight travel. This position reports to the Director of the Felton Student Success Center. 

This position is eligible for remote work for Iowa residents only!

Duties to include: 

  • Plan, organize, and implement recruitment activities, orientation and advising events for RN-BSN students. 
  • Coordinate targeted outreach communication and programming that align with the strategic enrollment plan for the College of Nursing. 
  • Coordinate recruitment events representing the College of Nursing (both local and national) to answer inquiries for the RN-BSN program, responsible for all logistics.
  • Advise newly admitted students regarding their registration and prospective plan of study. 
  • Lead RN-BSN orientation programing to help students select a 3, 4, or 5 semester plan of study and use the degree audit to facilitate timely graduation.  
  • Manage enrollment data to identify where our students are coming from (community colleges or hospitals/healthcare agency) in order to guide recruitment strategies to meet program admission goals.  
  • Track retention and graduation for each admitted cohort. 
  • Plan collaboratively with a student’s advisor, the student, and faculty to implement success plan when students are in academic risk.   
  • Create plans of study for each new cohort of RN-BSN program students. 
  • Oversee probation and dismissal processes for RN-BSN Students.  
  • Serve as the liaison and maintain effective working relationships with public and private agencies, program participants, and other UI units as well as faculty, staff, and students for the program. 
  • Develop yearly budget request proposals for the RN-BSN program. Monitor expenditures and review financial reports to ensure budget is effectively managed. 
  • Serve as a liaison to program committees such as college forums and councils.
  • Effectively use MAUI, MyUI, and other University platforms to support program management.
  • Participate in strategic planning for the general operation of the Felton Student Success Center and the College in areas that intersect with student services and the programs that staff administer.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 
  • Typically, one year or more experience in program management, secondary education, or higher education. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated by the ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through appropriate communication methods and behaviors to provide excellent service and maintain professional relationships. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member to accomplish goals. 
  • Demonstrated ability to interact positively with individuals of various backgrounds. 
  • Working knowledge and ability to use tools such as Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet search tools. 
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines. 
  • Valid drivers’ license and ability to meet and maintain UI Fleet Safety Standards 

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures. 
  • Typically, two years of experience with recruiting, admissions, and or advising. 
  • Experience working at an academic institution. 
  • Experience with coordinating and organizing events.
