The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks applications for a Senior Football Analyst. This is a full-time (probationary and FLSA-exempt) position which includes full University benefits. The Department of Athletics manages 22 varsity sports programs and related events with a workforce of approximately 250 regular employees and 300 temporary employees. Responsibilities: The Senior Football Analyst is responsible for providing administrative, instructional, and coaching support to the Coaching Staff regarding aspects of opponent planning, scouting reports, tendency patterns, personnel packages, and roster status.  Assists UI coaching staff with the purpose of building a successful, competitive intercollegiate sports program that also retains and graduates student-athletes.  Assists Recruiting Coordinator, Director of Recruiting, and Director of Player Personnel in selected aspects of the on-campus recruiting process.
This position will require frequent work in the evenings and on weekends.

Required qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Minimum five to seven years of successful football administrative and/or coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level;
  • Minimum of one year of experience utilizing office productivity software and online database systems;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; as demonstrated by prior research and analytics experiences;
  • Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships; 
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly regulated team environment;
  • A valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain University of Iowa Driving Policy standards. 

Desired qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of successful football administrative and/or coaching experience at the NCAA Power 4 or NFL level;
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the professionalism and intensity necessary to successfully contribute to a Division I athletics program;
  • Demonstrated proficiency and ability) to:
    • Utilize video analysis system such as HUDL™, DVSport, XO’s, or equivalent.  
    • Comply with N.C.A.A. rules and regulations.
    • Maintain productive and long term relationships with staff, prospects, and high school coaches.
