SIM-IA Eastern Regional Coordinator
The SIM-IA Eastern Regional Coordinator is expected to provide leadership, support to the Director, and positively contribute to the overall quality of the Simulation in Motion-Iowa Program and collaborating effectively with all team members, with an emphasis on the eastern region of Iowa. The individual will manage the daily operations of the eastern region truck. This position will assist the director for the successful operation of the program to deliver mobile simulation education and training to identified stakeholders throughout Iowa. The SIM-IA Eastern Regional Coordinator will serve as the simulation operator and clinical expert for the eastern region site, coordinating with the Program Coordinator and Education Coordinator to ensure all eastern region course programs are delivered efficiently, supported by clinical evidence and support individual learners. This position must facilitate simulation learning and participates in debriefings as well as other learning methodologies.
About Simulation in Motion-Iowa (SIM-IA)
This program is focused on providing clinical simulation education for EMS and other healthcare providers across the state. SIM-IA has launched three mobile simulation labs that will be staffed with registered nurses, paramedics, and EMTs to provide state-of-the-art education with high volume, high risk, and/or low frequency emergencies to improve patient care, clinical outcomes, and provider experiences.

Education Requirement
- Associate degree in Paramedic Science and current paramedic certification by the Iowa Department of Public Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services or current license as registered nurse by Iowa Board of Nursing.
Required Qualifications
- Current course completion card in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a complex learning environment where disruptions to workflow are common.
Desired Qualifications:
- Patient care experience in emergency medical services, hospital emergency departments, critical/intensive care, and/or aeromedical settings. Experience in a setting that is relevant to the specialty training that they will be providing (ex: neonatology, obstetrics, burn care, etc.).
- Current course completion card in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) by the American Heart Association.
- Familiarity with health care setting.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Previous experience with clinical simulation equipment or other complex technological devices.
- Previous work experience in an academic environment and/or academic healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics policies, procedures, and regulations.
