Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited paramedic program, accredited school of nursing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Eligible for certification and/or licensure to practice in Iowa.
  • Documented clinical proficiency in emergency medical services, or nursing, or related field. 
  • Demonstrated working level of proficiency (typically 1- 3 years’ experience) in Educational/Instructional Program Management including development, planning, implementation/coordination, and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated working level of proficiency in public speaking, technical writing and/or teaching.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication techniques and relationship building skills that develop the ability to clearly communicate and work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Extensive experience and proficiency in computer software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional, course management software such as Desire-to-Learn or UI ICON, internet search engines, and web-based software.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact positively with a diverse population.
  • Valid Drivers license and ability to meet and maintain UI Fleet Safety Standards.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator  (CHSE-A preferred).
  • Experience in healthcare simulation.
  • Valid CDL license or ability to acquire.
