Support Services Specialist - Orthodontics, College of Dentistry
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Billing experience and insurance payment knowledge (i.e. eligibility, registration, company payment procedures, discrepancy tracking)
- Patient account interactions, including development of payment plans.
- Strong knowledge of third party payers’ guidelines and procedures required.
- Demonstrated experience resolving claims and billing situations.
- Possess strong analytical skills, and computer skills including Outlook, Excel, Access and Word.
- Demonstrated Customer/Patient Account service skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of the team.
Desirable:
- Experience working in Orthodontic dental clinic
- Experience with electronic health record systems.
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and tasks through time management and planning techniques; and
- Knowledge of CDT 2021 dental codes or medical coding such as ICD-10 or CPT-4.
