POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Anthropology, Art/Art History, Biology, Education, Museum Studies or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage scheduling, training, and supervision of professional and student staff
- Professional experience working directly with the public.
- Professional experience supervising personnel.
- Must have a valid U.S. driving license and be able to meet the University of Iowa’s Fleet Safety requirements: http://opsmanual.uiowa.edu/administrative-financial-and-facilities-policies/fleet-services/fleet-safety-program
- Demonstrates a WORKING proficiency level in:
- Proficiency with computer software applications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Desired:
- Museum Studies course work or certificate.
- 2 or more years working directly with the public.
- Experience with museum visitor services operations.
- Experience managing museum docent staff.
- Some knowledge of developing museum public programming.
- Some knowledge of University policies, procedures, and regulations.

Compensation: $18,171-$19,500 anticipated starting annual salary. Salary will be discussed at time of interviews. This position will work Tuesday to Saturday with occasional evenings and weekends required. This position will be 50% time
