Information Technology Services (ITS) at the University of Iowa is seeking an A/V Technology Coordinator to help ensure our classrooms, meeting spaces, and campus facilities are equipped with dependable, user-friendly A/V technology.  This role, as part of the A/V team within ITS-Enterprise Infrastructure, will coordinate A/V maintenance and support, help manage inventory and equipment lifecycles, and partner with other technical staff to keep learning and collaboration spaces running smoothly.

What you’ll do (not all inclusive):

·       Coordinate and support day-to-day A/V troubleshooting

·       Support lifecycle planning, inventory, and asset management related to A/V.

·       Help create and maintain service/support documentation.

·       Assist with coordination of project delivery work, such as summer classroom refreshes

·       Lead small, goal-oriented projects involving A/V and IT equipment

This position has a project assignment of 1 year and is classified as a "specified term appointment" as a Communication Infrastructure Engineer (PIB2) with full fringe benefits.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the position, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

·       Experience (typically 1 year or more) tracking, organizing, and supporting technology, preferably including audiovisual equipment.

·       Experience using an IT Service Management toolset (i.e. Cherwell, Halo, ServiceNow, etc.) for tracking support incidents and equipment inventory.

·       Experience leading/coordinating small IT projects.

·       Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·       Superior interpersonal, customer service, and teamwork skills (including with technical peers).

·       Physical ability to routinely move and transport audiovisual and computer equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

·       Valid US driver’s license and ability to meet UI fleet safety requirements.

Desirable Qualifications:

·       Forklift certification.

·       Experience working in a higher education, public sector, or large enterprise environment.

·       Familiarity with IT equipment lifecycle management.

·       Experience using inventory management systems, ERPs, or asset tracking tools.
