Iowa Health Care is seeking a 80% Accountant for clinic operations. The accountant position is accountable for the accounting operations of the department, to include but not limited to the production of financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive system of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

 

*This position is eligible to participate in 2 hybrid work days per week, but will need to be onsite for orientation. Hybrid work must be performed at a location within the state of Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs Accounts Payable functions including recording invoices, investigating discrepancies, and account reconciliation.
  • Enters routine journal entries.
  • Enters AP bills and credit card transactions if needed.
  • Performs month-end closing and reconciliation.
  • Reconciles, investigates, corrects, and adjusts accounting information.
  • Assists in budget preparation and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Pay Grade: PBF1 Level 3A

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field OR equivalent combination of technical training/certification; work experience that demonstrates technical competency is required. 
  • Ability to think critically and experience with independent problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Experience gathering and organizing data from a variety of systems/sources to perform a task.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  •          1 year of accrual basis accounting working experiences including accounts payable, journal entries, month-end closing and data reporting
  •           Prior experience in customer service
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to handle inquiries or resolve issues professionally—particularly valuable in supporting internal and external stakeholders in an accounting environment.
