The Administrative Services Coordinator will provide operational and administrative support services for the Department of Anesthesia contributing to the success of faculty and staff as well as furthering the goals, objectives, and vision of the Department. Responsible for supporting faculty in addition to management of projects, and events within the Department as assigned. Programs will be aligned with one or more of the four Departmental missions: education, research, clinical services and operations, and administration.

What you will do:

  • Provide administrative support to Anesthesia Faculty, including but not limited to: managing calendars, scheduling meetings, updating CV, preparing correspondence, and research support assistance.
  • Assist in monitoring dates related to licensure, certifications, dues, and subscription renewals.
  • Maintain and promote positive communications and serve as contact to department members, faculty, staff, students, and general public.
  • Serve as a member of the Department of Anesthesia administrative support team and provide backup coverage to other members during absences.

What you will need:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate careful attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and effectively, proactively establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required including ability to compose communications and grammatically correct documents in a concise, logical, and organized manner.
  • Proficient in computer software applications (Microsoft Office Programs) to include SQL and MS Access databases.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in administrative support (1-3 years) highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the ePro, ProTrav, Epic, and QGenda systems.
  • Previous experience working in a college/university and/or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures.

This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
