Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience (typically 1 year) in an administrative role in a complex organization.
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to follow up and multi-task with minimal supervision and be highly responsive in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, administrators and executives such as dean, directors, department heads and public and private officials.
  • Experience with handling sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

Special Qualifications: 

  • A valid driver’s license is required, as well as an ability to meet and maintain University of Iowa Driving Policy. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Beyond 1 year of experience in an administrative role in a complex organization.
  • Planning, organizing, and implementing events.
  • Working knowledge of relational database systems.
  • Knowledge of or experience with criminal law in addition to knowledge of public safety operations.
  • Experience with financial transactions and systems.
  • Experience in police evidence controls and processes.
  • Knowledge and experience with police vehicle equipment and uniform equipment including firearms\weapons.
  • Familiarity with University policies, procedures, and regulations.
