REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Typically 1-3 years’ experience in higher education academic advising or student services.
  • Typically 1-3 years working with diverse student populations.
  • Working knowledge of and experience in program management and/or event planning and execution.
  • Expert knowledge of and ability to communicate effectively with individuals and large groups both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with a student services focus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office computer applications.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in student affairs, business, or a related field
  • Reasonable experience working individually with undergraduate students in an ongoing advising or mentoring capacity.
  • Working knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures related to undergraduate students
  • Higher education experience in any of the following: orientation, academic support, and advising, or student services.      
  • Familiarity with social media platforms to reach to student audiences.
