Qualifications:

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation Administration, Sports Management or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Demonstrated professional experience (typically 1-3 years) in Aquatic programming and facility management.
  • Demonstrated experience (typically 1-3 years) managing a Swim Lesson program.
  • Demonstrated experience (typically 1-3 years) managing a team within an aquatics department.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to provide examples of savvy approaches to effectively resolve conflicts or complaints.
  • Commitment to and alignment with the values of the Division of Student Life, including a demonstrated commitment to excellence through diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Proficiency in utilizing standard office computer software applications.
  • Current certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI), and American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated professional experience (typically 1 or more years) within a collegiate or university aquatics program.
  • Demonstrated experience (typically 1 or more years) instructing American Red Cross Certification Courses.
  • Current certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI), and American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI).
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor Trainer (LGIT) certification.
  • Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT) certification.
  • Current Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification. Ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
