Assistant Research Scientist-Dept. of Radiology
EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum 4 years of experience in quantitative medical image analysis, machine learning, micro-architectural imaging, musculoskeletal imaging, and pulmonary imaging.
- Experience with Linux and Windows required.
- Experience with programming in C++, MATLAB, Python, and at least one common deep learning library.
- Demonstrable experience in medical image processing, analysis, and classification.
- Familiarity with common software libraries for image processing (such as ITK) and deep learning (such as TensorFlow).
- Ability to write clean, consistent, and well-documented code.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to document projects and provide status reports.
- Excellent team and interpersonal skills. Ability to both take direction and work in a self-directed manner, as well as in a collaborative team environment.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrable experience in developing custom deep learning workflows.
- Demonstrable experience in traditional machine learning techniques, e.g. Support Vector Machines (SVMs), applied to medical image analytics.
- Experience with use of multiple GPUs on desktop as well as high-performance GPU compute clusters for deep learning.
- Experience with ITK, VTK, SimpleITK, Slicer
- Experience with statistical analysis of experimental outcomes.
- Working knowledge of DICOM and other medical image formats.
- Experience in mentoring students.
- Experience in presenting work at leading national and international forums.
