Associate Director for Leadership, Service & Civic Engagement
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Student Development, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Demonstrated experience (typically minimum of 3 years) in higher education in advising, developing, coordinating, and evaluating student life programs, specifically in leadership, service and civic engagement programs.
- Demonstrated experience working with campus and community partners in developing and assessing service and civic engagement opportunities for students.
- Extensive understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrated experience supervising professional and/or student staff.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Working experience in negotiation of contractual agreements in the areas of University, educational, leadership, and service programs.
- Knowledge of assessment methods and activities; ability to assess programs and review students’ learning outcomes to ensure achievement of objectives and strategies.
- Extensive ability to apply organization’s performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply policies and practices for planning and administering a budget and managing expenses.
