Business Intelligence Analyst
The Business Intelligence Analyst position in the Finance and Business Information Services team is responsible for conducting reviews and analytics and implementing and enhancing data solutions to meet business requirements.
One of the key responsibilities is to implement models, reporting and visualization. The analyst analyzes data, creates and maintains documentation, and provides first-level support to data owners and end users. The analyst also participates in the implementation of data solutions.
Leadership responsibility for this position consists of collecting user feedback, contributing ideas, and communication within FBIS, senior management, customers and other partners, and across university boundaries.
This position is eligible for a combination of on-campus and remote work and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
Duties to include:
- Conducts interviews and workshops with internal customers/stakeholders to gather detailed data, analytics, and modeling requirements.
- Assists in the preparation, cleansing, and verification of data to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Contributes ideas to improve business processes and enhance efficiency.
- Documents data sources, transformations, and models.
- Applies basic statistical techniques to analyze data and identify trends.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm
Location: Mossman Business Services Building (MBSB)
Pay: $61,393 to commensurate

Required Qualifications:
- Direct work-related experience (typically 6 months to 1 year) in business analytics, data engineering, and/or report development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to communicate effectively with technical/non-technical staff.
- Knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as SQL Server and Oracle DBMS.
- Experience with reporting tools, such as SQL Server Reporting Services, and data visualization tools, such as Power BI.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL/ELT processes, such as SSIS.
- Capability to process and cleanse data.
- Ability to learn new technologies and processes.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with data and reporting solutions in a higher educational setting.
- Experience with business and financial applications.
- Beyond 1 year’s direct work-related experiences in business analytics, data engineering, and/or report development.
- Experience in conducting presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with Data Governance, and Data Security, Privacy, and Ethics.
- Industry certifications, such as Microsoft Certified Azure Data Scientist Associate and Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
