Data Center Systems Analyst - Data Center Hosting
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience may also serve to meet this minimum requirement.
- Experience (typically 1-2 years) working in an enterprise-level configuration (250+ users) including supporting and managing related technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to assist in system design.
- Experience in applying the process of securing servers and applications.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with technical and non-technical staff.
- Demonstrated ability to perform troubleshooting skills in enterprise systems.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet the University of Iowa Fleet Safety requirements (see website for info) https://uiowa.edu/riskmanagement/vehicle-use.
- Ability to accomplish day-to-day tasks including moving and transporting equipment up to 50 pounds.
- U.S. Citizenship, permanent residency, or protected person status is required for ITAR compliance.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with current Windows/Linux/AIX Server operating systems.
- Experience supporting, configuring, or administering MS SharePoint services.
- Experience with server cabinet and cable management and cable labeling.
- Experience working with out-of-band management (i.e. Raritan, cc-sg, powerIQ, IPMI, etc.).
- Familiarity with virtualization (i.e. VMware, AIX LPAR).
- Knowledge of Active Directory.
- Experience supporting technology in a higher educational setting.
- Experience with storage systems (NAS, SAN, iSCSI, etc.).
- Knowledge of EIA/TIA standards and an understanding of fiber optic cabling, including patching, testing, and documentation.
- Industry certifications.
