Histotechnologist - Dept of Ortho & Rehab
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of histology experience is required.

Experience working in a high-volume histology lab.

Processing and sectioning of orthopedic soft-tissue specimens such as tendon, ligament, muscle, etc.
- Processing and sectioning of decalcified bone specimens.
- Processing and sectioning of decalcified osteochondral specimens.
- Experience processing non-rodent tissues (rabbit, cow, pig, sheep, or goat).
- Experience performing immunohistochemical staining on paraffin sections.
- Experience performing standard chemical staining techniques on paraffin sections.
- Use of light microscopy.
- Use of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word) and electronic record keeping.
Desired Qualifications:

Familiarity with human and animal joint anatomy.

Ability to recognize and assess histopathologic features.

Processing and sectioning of calcified specimens.
-
Sectioning of metal and ceramics in bone.
-
Experience with ImageJ or other digital image analysis programs.
-
Master’s degree.
-
HTL certification.
