Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 


Required Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 3 years of histology experience is required. 

  • Experience working in a high-volume histology lab.

  • Processing and sectioning of orthopedic soft-tissue specimens such as tendon, ligament, muscle, etc.

  • Processing and sectioning of decalcified bone specimens.
  • Processing and sectioning of decalcified osteochondral specimens.
  • Experience processing non-rodent tissues (rabbit, cow, pig, sheep, or goat).
  • Experience performing immunohistochemical staining on paraffin sections.
  • Experience performing standard chemical staining techniques on paraffin sections.
  • Use of light microscopy. 
  • Use of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word) and electronic record keeping.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with human and animal joint anatomy.

  • Ability to recognize and assess histopathologic features.

  • Processing and sectioning of calcified specimens.

  • Sectioning of metal and ceramics in bone.

  • Experience with ImageJ or other digital image analysis programs.

  • Master’s degree.

  • HTL certification.
