Learning Analytics Specialist
Master’s degree in Statistics, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also serve to meet this requirement.
Experience Requirement
1-3 years’ experience in learning analytics projects, including education research that integrates learning analytics interventions.
Required Qualifications
• Knowledge of database and data management and regression analysis in a statistical software package such as SAS, R, SPSS, or Stata.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work productively as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability of highly developed organizational skills and practices.
Desired Qualifications
• Extensive experience using statistical software packages (i.e. SAS, R, SPSS, or Stata) to calculate descriptive statistics, conduct hypothesis tests, and use multiple linear regression and logistic regression to model outcomes.
• Ph.D. in Educational Evaluation, Statistics, or related field.
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms
• Knowledge of Unizin Data Platform and Canvas.
• Knowledge of learning theory and its application in higher education settings
• Background of coursework in research methodology
• Experience with building both general linear models and generalized linear models.
• Experience with teaching at the post-secondary level.
• Knowledge of University policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Knowledge of methods used in educational data mining.
• Experience with a programming language such as Python
