Percent of Time: 100%

Schedule: Preferred schedule Monday – Friday, 8:00a-5:00p. Schedule may be modified to fit candidate and clinic needs.

Location: UIHC, Iowa City

On Campus: This position is performed fully on campus.

Pay Level: PK81; 46 (SEIU Pay Plan | University Human Resources - The University of Iowa (uiowa.edu))

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6-12 months experience working in a clinical setting with an ophthalmologist
  • Certification by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) as an ophthalmic assistant (COA)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 6-12 months experience working in a clinical setting with an oculoplastic surgeon
  •  Previous surgical assisting experience
  • Certification by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology as an Ophthalmic Technician (COT)
