The Program Coordinator works under the direction of the Executive Director to provide center operational coordination and support to the National Resource Center for Family Centered Practice (NRC) in the School of Social Work. This position is responsible for coordinating daily operations of the NRC. This position provides administrative support to the Iowa Peer Workforce Collaborative and the training programs of the NRC. Functional supervision will be provided by the Training Director. This position will also monitor NRC grants/contracts, serve as a liaison to funders and training program participants, and complete support tasks which involve use of university financial and HR systems.  

This is a specified-term appointment at 100% effort for 2 years.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

Communication and Outreach

  • Coordinate communications and outreach of the NRC’s National Family Development Specialist certification and Family Support Supervisor trainings and other trainings of the Training Division.
  • Development and maintenance of marketing and curricular materials for training division.
  • Closely collaborate with Grants Accounting and other University entities.

Compliance 

  • Coordinate applicable compliance standards.

Strategic Planning

  • Assist in the coordination/preparation of strategic plans in support of the NRC.

Operational and Financial Management

  • Manage training activities, including establishing training events/classes, managing registration and online course sites, communicating with clients.
  • Analyze evaluation and training data, develop monthly reports for IPWC, schedule and provide support for training activities.
  • Coordinate and administer the operational and financial activities for the National Resource Center.

Leadership and Supervision

  • May provide functional and/or administrative supervision of staff.
  • Provide direction, assignments, feedback, coaching and counseling to assure outcomes are achieved. 
  • May hire, develop, and manage the performance of staff, assure staff is compliant with UI policies and procedures.

Education Requirement 

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in supporting an academic unit.
  • Demonstrated ability to enter, organize and manipulate data for reporting purposes.
  • Familiarity with and working knowledge of social work programs.
  • Working experience and knowledge of Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Highly detail-oriented, particularly related to financial and data management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to meet University of Iowa Fleet Services standards.
