QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Education, Experience and Compencies Required

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Some (minimum 6 mo. - one year) related experience in an administrative academic setting with understanding and applying university or college rules.
  • Demonstrates a basic proficiency in each of the following areas:
    • The ability to establish, build, and maintain productive working/collaborative relationships and partnerships within and external to own unit, those to whom services are provided, vendors, the public, regulatory/governmental agencies, etc.
    • Ability to contribute to and support a team-based work environment with variety of individuals and groups in a constructive manner while appreciating the unique contribution of diverse individuals.
  • Demonstrates a working proficiency in each of the following areas:
    • The ability to create, maintain, retrieve, and archive electronic and procedural documents. Follows security and version management guidelines and practices as well as standard processes and procedures to ensure/maintain data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
    • Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail and gauges the impact and cost of errors, omissions, and oversights. Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
    • Use of communication concepts, tools, and techniques (including listening skills) to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret information. Applies appropriate communication behaviors to enhance the effectiveness to diverse individuals/groups.
    • Using online records management systems, preferably MAUI (internal UI) system or other student records system or product (I.e., Banner, Peoplesoft).
    • The ability to learn and apply broad institutional rules, policies and laws, such as understanding FERPA and other university and federal regulatory procedures. Direct experience and familiarity with FERPA and university regulations preferred.
    • MS Office Suite applications such as but not limited to Word, Excel and One Note.

Desired Qualifications

  • Understanding of the University’s and Registrar’s Office mission, vision, and key factors.
  • Demonstrates basic familiarity with cash handling, financial processes, and procedures.
  • Experience working in higher education, preferably in a Registrar’s office or role.
