The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Radiology is seeking a PACS Systems Administrator with a clinical focus to join the Radiology Engineering team and support day-to-day clinical operations of the enterprise PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System). This includes the radiologist workflow, training, archiving, auto-routing, diagnostic viewing, prefetching and other duties as assigned. Will work with other teams in Radiology and other hospital departments to oversee complete capture of DICOM digital image data into the PACS while ensuring timely access to diagnostic quality images is available 365x24x7. Works to train radiological image viewing across multiple hospital departments. This position will require an ability to become proficient with an in-depth understanding of all Radiology interoperability and end-user workflow and support.

Position Responsibilities:

· Analysis: Aids in the implementation and support of key Radiology IT platforms. Actively seeks process improvement opportunities within the department and presents those to department leadership.

· Implementation: Performs basic configuration and installation of organization-wide Radiology solutions. Assists with the integration of key systems and platforms. Ensures users are trained on new processes.

· Documentation: Documents all work orders and project related work. Document training for proprietary systems.

· Support: Plays a key team role in providing training and support of multiple complex and integrated Radiology solutions. Interacts with team members at all levels of the organization. Participates in department on call rotation. Coordinates regularly with the hospital departments.

· Relationship Management: Provides a high level of customer services to key individuals across all levels of the organization, inside and outside of Radiology. Regularly interacts with physicians and other clinical staff. Participates in project and support calls with vendors.

· Leadership: Assists in onboarding new department staff members by training and sharing knowledge of existing systems. Leads small teams in troubleshooting efforts.

Supervision received:

General supervision is received from Manager of Radiology Engineering PACS team

Supervision exercised:

Administrative and functional supervision exercised over PACS Team during assigned project implementation.

Education Required:

· Completion of a Bachelor with a STEM-focused education, or an equivalent combination of STEM-focused education and experience is required.

Experience Requirements:

· 3 years of experience working in a medical center environment.

· Basic knowledge and experience with radiology imaging workflow.

· Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy.

· Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

· Driver's license and ability to meet the University of Iowa Fleet Management Driver’s safety requirements.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office, and/or other PC applications.

· Ability to participate in on-call rotations and be able to return to UI Health Care within a 30-minute commute time to and from UI Health Care.

Desired Qualifications:

· Working knowledge of voice recognition software.

· Experience organizing and conducting training.

· Demonstrated knowledge of radiology imaging workflow.

· Demonstrated excellent problem-solving ability in order to resolve issues and ensure functionality.

· Experience supporting end-users with Windows-based clinical applications.

· Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently or within a team environment.
