Qualifications: 

Systems Analyst:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Experience (typically 1 year or more) researching, exploring, and solving technical problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with technical and non-technical staff 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer software applications including Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and HR Information Systems.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in continuously learning and applying new ideas to innovative services and technologies.
  • Experience supporting technology in a higher education setting.
  • Some experience working with Unix/Linux in any setting.
  • Experience with common IT security hardening techniques
  • Experience troubleshooting computer hardware.
  • Some exposure to common programing languages.  Examples may include Python, Perl, Ruby, Bash/Shell.
  • Experience with compliance regimes such as: HIPAA, NIST, FISMA, etc.
  • Experience supporting scientific research.
  • Some experience and/or knowledge of filesystems or network storage

Systems Administrator

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Experience researching, exploring, and solving technical problems.
  • Typically, 2-4 years’ experience with Unix/Linux in a multi-user environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Some experience with common programing languages.  Examples may include Python, Perl, Ruby, Bash/Shell.
  • Experience with common IT security hardening techniques

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in continuously learning and applying new ideas to innovative services and technologies.
  • Experience with compliance regimes such as: HIPAA, NIST, FISMA, etc.
  • Experience supporting technology in a higher education setting.
  • Experience supporting scientific research 
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools. Examples may include Puppet, SCCM, Chef, Ansible, etc.
  • Some exposure in any setting with virtualization. 
  • Experience troubleshooting computer hardware.
  • Experience and or knowledge of supporting filesystems or network storage

Information Technology Services will be hiring for one level listed within this requisition, depending on the qualifications of the successful finalist.
