The University of Iowa, Accounts Payable Department is seeking a 1-year Specified Term Vendor Onboarding Administrator to support various vendor onboarding and management duties with emphasis on the creation, updating and maintenance of the University’s vendor records while proactively reviewing information to identify and prevent potentially fraudulent activity. This position will provide customer support to vendors throughout the onboarding and maintenance processes as well as University customer support. This position will review information for accuracy, assess documentation for inconsistencies and potential fraud attempts as well as complete data entry to finalize vendor creation and account updates. This position will require these tasks to be completed on eVoucher, purchase requisition and eSupplier transactions. This position will analyze and update vendor file information to prevent and remove duplicate records and addresses. This position will be available to assist in a backup capacity to support the Vendor Team in daily processes, completion of reports, analysis of documentation for fraud and other tasks as assigned. This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization.

 

This position is performed fully on campus.

 

Duties Include:

  • Manage the vendor onboard and record updating process through detailed analysis of information and documentation provided.  Review requires high level of detail, thoroughness and attention to details that ensure record accuracy and validity including fraud mitigation.
  • Analyze and monitor vendor correspondence and requests for accuracy and fraud prevention.
  • Efficiently and accurately process daily purchasing and payment transactions associated with vendor record additions and/or changes.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate responses and actions are taken.

 

Location: PCO

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Salary: $41,541 to commensurate

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience (typically 6 months) in Accounting, Vendor Management, and/or fraud analysis.
  • Must be proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational and analytical/statistical skills with the ability to meet deadlines and multitask.
  • Excellent project management skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of automated accounting systems.
  • Extensive experience in managing vendor information and conducting thorough analyses to assess validity and identify potential indicators of fraud.
  • Familiarity with University systems such as PeopleSoft, APPO, ePro and ProTrav.
  • Knowledge of University business processes and procedures.
