Position Summary:
The School of Art & Art History is seeking an Administrative & Academic Coordinator. This position will assist in the completion of a wide range of administrative responsibilities, including those related to fiscal management, human resources, assistant to the DEO, and being a “point of presence” for departmental business. This position requires management of faculty and student records and a high level of discretion with respect to confidential material. This position provides executive level administrative support requiring a high level of discretion and independent judgement. Key duties include:

• Coordinate course offerings for fall, spring, summer and winter sessions. Review offerings on MAUI and MyUI to ensure accuracy. Make necessary changes through MAUI.
• Coordinate the exhibitions of all SAAH galleries in multiple locations.
• Initiate workflow forms and appointments for graduate assistant TA, RA, scholarship and fellowship transactions.
• Coordinate offer letters and HR appointments for non-tenure/instructional track instructors each semester.
• Develop budget for TA, RA, fellowship and scholarship positions and monitor the budget to ensure appropriate expenditures and funding sources.
• Gather departmental information as requested by the Director and Departmental Administrator.
• Prepare and administer correspondence on behalf of the Director and Departmental Administrator.

Education Required: A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience Required:
• 6 months-1 year administrative office experience.
• Evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, concurrent objectives, projects or activities, making effective judgements as to prioritizing and time allotment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Experience Desired:
• Working knowledge of University of Iowa policies, procedures and regulations.
• Ability to work and collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience working with academic course schedules.
