Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or MIS is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of experience designing, developing and maintaining large scale data driven web applications in a professional, academic or health care environment. 
  • Working experience with Drupal or other CMS platforms.
  • Working experience with web development programming languages (including JavaScript) and frameworks.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL including knowledge of database modeling and principles of database design.   
  • Basic knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating system
  • Excellent communication and customer relations skills, including the ability to effectively communicate highly technical concepts to all audiences and to demonstrate receptivity to constructive feedback from content developers, editors and leadership staff. 
  • Knowledge of best practices for web accessibility for individuals with disabilities.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with MySQL.
  • Experience with PHP and jQuery
  • Knowledge of University of Iowa Policies and Procedures.

 

The department intends to hire for one position from either Application Developer, requisition 22003710, or Application Programmer/Analyst, requisition 22005460, based on the qualifications of the successful candidate.
