Education Required:
A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Experience Required:
Minimum of 7 years professional related experience developing and maintaining database driven web applications in a secure, professional environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with programming in .NET Core, PHP, Ruby, C#, Java, or other object-oriented language.
  • Experience with MVC programming frameworks such as CodeIgniter, Drupal, Spring, Angular, Rails.
  • Advanced skills with relational database design theory and SQL query languages.  Demonstrated experience working with MySQL or MS SQL.
  • Experience with user interface CSS frameworks/libraries such as Bootstrap or JavaScript/JQuery.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing, with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Proven experience interacting with end users and subject matter experts along all phases of software development including concept, iteration, release and production.
  • Successful track record of leading full development lifecycle including gathering requirements, design, development, analytics, implementation and support.
  • Experience leading teams and/or projects.
  • Demonstrated job-related experience with, and commitment to, promoting diversity in the work/academic environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading, motivating, evaluating and rewarding personnel in a supervisory role.
  • Experience developing and implementing cloud-based initiatives/services/applications with cloud providers (such as AWS or Azure)
  • Experience using Microsoft’s business intelligence tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), or Microsoft Excel PowerPivot
  • Experience with data visualization methodology using technologies such as PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Experience using ORM technologies, such as Hibernate and the Java Persistence API, Entity Framework, LINQ, etc.
  • Experience developing in integrated development environments (PhpStorm, IntelliJ IDEA, Visual Studio,…)
  • Experience with best practices and technologies used in building RESTful API’s.
  • Familiarity with software development best practices such as source code control, issue tracking, testing using Jira or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with agile software development.
  • Knowledge of University policies, procedures and regulations.
