Senior Application Developer – Epic HIM
Position Qualifications:
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and related application development/support experience
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in the development and/or support of applications used by non-technical customers to support and enhance workflow processes, preferably healthcare, typically 5-7 years of experience for a Senior Application Developer role.
- Experience acting as the primary contact for the support, configuration, and development of at least one enterprise application or area of functionality, preferably healthcare related.
- Experience working with application owners and/or vendors to define system requirements, integration requirements and understand business needs.
- Demonstrated experience working with end-users to define system requirements, understand business needs and convert business requirements into functional/technical specifications for complex integrated systems build.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with basic project management
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical staff.
- Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience supporting an EHR in an ambulatory or hospital setting.
- Experience with any of the following workflows: health information management (HIM), release of information (ROI), hospital coding and billing, deficiency tracking, referrals, clinical data sharing, ambulatory/inpatient nursing, physician documentation, electronic exchange of information, or interoperability configuration.
- Epic certification/accreditation related but not limited to the following: Epic Health Information Management (HIM), Epic Release of Information (ROI), Epic Hospital Coding, Epic Deficiency Tracking, Epic Identity, EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient, EpicCare Procedure Orders, Epic CareLink, Care Everywhere.
- Demonstrated ability using tools for customizing vendor application software.
- Demonstrated knowledge of integrated system software solutions
- Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical staff on system implementation projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience adhering to regulatory requirements with respect to system configuration.
- Proven ability to write application test scripts.
