Senior Unix/Linux Systems Administrator
Education Required:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or related degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Eligibility to work on ITAR, EAR, and NIST-compliant projects.
- 5-7 years of Linux systems administration and/or IT application administration experience.
- Experience with configuration management software Puppet, Ansible or equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with a strong focus on customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with technical and non-technical staff.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide-range of constituencies in a varied technical environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate technology proposals and analyze system specifications from technical, financial, and integration perspectives.
- Experience with the following software: CentOS/Rocky, Ubuntu, VMWare/Virtualization software.
- Experience installing/supporting open source databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) & open source applications.
- Experience with security systems relevant to computer systems and networks, notably Active Directory authentication, use of certificates, and implementation / administration of Group Policy, LDAP.
- Experience with and knowledge of organizational structures, workflows, and operating procedures in a technology environment.
- Project management experience.
- Experience supporting technology in a higher education setting.
